Karen Sykes
Nurse
Karen , is originally from Elkhorn City deep in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. After high school she attended Eastern Kentucky University before deciding to move back to the mountains and find her true calling in life, nursing. After graduating from the nursing program at Mayo Tech in 1982 her career spanned all areas of nursing including but not limited to, geriatrics, pediatrics, cardiac, ICU, Emergency room, Neurology and working with a specialized IV team. She came to Lexington Diagnostic Center in 1999 to help out for a couple of days while they searched for a full-time nurse. After working with the LDC staff for only a short time she knew this is where she needed to be.
Karen and the LDC team will take on any challenge. Her specialty is implant research and MRI safety. If you have any questions about anything implanted in your body and if you are eligible for an MRI, Karen will be glad to help you.
She loves spending time with her 3 grand children Christian, Jordyn and Grace and spoiling her great grandson Waylen, her doggie son Cooper and kitty daughter Tasha.
